Changing your profile picture on Snapchat is easy and can be done in just a few steps. However, there are different types of profile pictures on Snapchat you can use which I’ll go more into detail about further on. The way you change your Snapchat profile photo, however, remains the same.
Snapchat has evolved like a star on the sky and gained immense traction in just a few years, amassing hundreds of millions of users. Snapchat has been able to compete with the industry giants like Instagram and Facebook, even though it is the new kid on the block and faces adversity and challenges. On most social media platforms, you snap a profile photo or select one from your photo library, but Snapchat is not like everybody else.
How to change your profile photo on Snapchat
Step 1: Open up the Snapchat app
Step 2: From the home screen tap the icon in the top left corner of your screen.
Step 3: Tap on the profile photo that you have set as your photo right now.
Step 4: Choose between ”Edit Bitmoji” if you have already created a Bitmoji animation as your profile photo, or, you’ll have the option to create a Bitmoji. You’ll also have the options to share Snapcode and save snap code to camera roll, but you want to select the first option.
Step 5: If you have already created a Bitmoji avatar but want to change it, tap ”Edit Bitmoji”. Now, you’ll get an array of opportunities to change the face, clothes, and much more of your avatar. if you haven’t created a Bitmoji avatar as your profile photo on Snapchat, you’ll be asked to download the Bitmoji app in order to create your very own Bitmoji.
Can you use a picture of yourself for your profile photo on Snapchat?
Before Snapchat introduced Bitmojis, you could take a photo of yourself and then use that as your Snapchat profile picture by incorporating it into your Snapcode, however, that is unfortunately not possible anymore.
Now, the only way to edit and change your profile picture on Snapchat is to edit and change your Bitmoji avatar. If you don’t have a Bitmoji avatar on Snapchat, you need to download the Bitmoji app and create an avatar first before changing your Snapchat profile picture.
How to unlink your Bitmoji on Snapchat
If you wish to unlink or delete your Bitmoji from your account, you can do so. Simply follow these steps:
1. Open up the Snapchat app.
2. Tap your profile icon in the top left corner of your screen.
3. Tap the settings icon in the top right corner of your screen (cog-wheel icon).
4. Far to the top of the settings, you’ll find ”Bitmoji”. Tap it.
5. Now, you’ll have the option to change your outfit, edit your Bitmoji, or change your Bitmoji selfie. Choose the action you want to take to change your Snapchat profile picture.
