Being a life coach, you will realize how important your following is. The bigger your following the more successful you are likely to be. You will also be able to reach more people and provide them with your expertise. With so much competition out there it can be difficult to get ahead and stand out from the crowd, so what can you do to gain a large following, here are some tips you will find useful.
Post Regularly
Don’t try and post every day, but, do try and post at least twice a week. Posting at regular times and on regular days will give your followers something to look forward to, and it will also show them that you mean business and that you are here to stay. Useful content such as a life plan template that will make them happy and improve their lives is something that is beneficial. When you post regularly it shows your followers that you care about them and that you want to provide them with fresh and new content regularly.
Be Helpful
There is a lot of nastiness around on social media, and honestly, there is no need for it. If you can’t say something nice then don’t say anything at all. Being negative, disrespectful, or downright nasty will not win you any friends or clients, so don’t do it. Once your reputation is tarnished there is usually nothing you can do to repair it. If you can’t help followers then point them in the direction of someone who can help them.
Be Approachable
Let your existing clients and potential clients know they can approach you with their questions. Ensure you social media profiles are accessible, and not private. If people can only see you, and not actually reach out to you then they are not really going to want to invest any time or money in you, your pages, or your business.
Trustworthiness
To be a successful life coach and to gain social media followers then you must be trustworthy. There is no point in lying about things, or making things up, as this will do nothing but tarnish your reputation. If people and followers know that your information and content is something they can trust then they will return time and time again. On your social media pages provide as much contact information as you can as if people know you are real they will trust you a lot more. If you lie about anything it is very quick to lose followers, and almost impossible to rebuild trust once it has been broken or lost.
Honesty and Openness
Be honest about your flaws and open to change. Nobody is perfect, not even life coaches, so be aware of conveying this over to your followers. If you are open about any struggles you have or any obstacles you have overcome people are going to put their trust and faith in you, and most likely turn from followers into clients.
Being open with your followers and not trying to mislead them is very important. Try not to hide anything as social media followings can quickly turn against you, especially if they feel that they have been lied to. If there is something you don’t want to share or be open about then that’s fine, just let your users know why you want to keep it private, and they should respect your decision.
Be Real
Don’t always post photos that have been filtered, be as real and natural as you can be. Nobody is perfect, and nobody lives a perfect life, so stop trying to convey this in everything that you post. Followers will appreciate your real-life photos and posts as much as the ones you may have spent hours editing.
Things happen in real life and your followers will appreciate you more if you share your real-life experiences in detail and not just the watered-down version. Don’t try to be something you are not as you will struggle to keep up the illusion, and it will eventually cause you to have a breakdown which will affect your mental health and wellbeing.
When building a social media following it can be done organically, there is no need to spend lots of money buying followers. If over a [period of time you provide unique content that the reader will benefit from you will find more and more people will follow you. If you can try to write posts in advance of posting them on your pages, this way you always have a constant supply of content ready to upload.
