The Multiple Accounts Function on Instagram
If you didn´t know already, Instagram released a function which allows its users to connect up to five accounts a while back.
When you add multiple Instagram accounts, you can switch between them without having to log out and log back in. This came as a huge relief for people who managed several accounts at once; (one private and several business accounts for example) since it has saved them lots of time, not having to log in and out all the time, missing important notifications.
To add multiple Instagram accounts:
1. Go to your profile and tap the “ ” symbol on iPhone and ““symbol on Android in the top right corner.
2. Scroll all the way to the bottom and find the button “Add account”- Press it.
3. Enter your username and password to the account you wish to add.
How to switch between the accounts:
- Go to your profile
- Tap your username at the top of the screen
- Tap the account you’d like to switch to
- DONE!
Until February 18th, users who have maintained separate personal and business accounts has been forced to sign out and back in repeatedly just to see what’s going on, on all their accounts. This has for some, resulted in the use of third-party Instagram apps (which Instagram usually dislikes) and some have even purchased multiple phones only in order to keep track of different Instagram accounts simultaneously.
But not anymore. This update that has made it extremely easy to switch between accounts will most likely encourage multi-account users to become more active on the service. At the same time, the people with just one account might feel encouraged to add more accounts since the process has become so easy.
